Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Provincial Civil Services had invited the application. The exams are tentative to be held this year. The Commission has announced the recruitment for 400 vacancies for the Combined State/ Upper Subordinate Services Examination.
The Commission has proposed to hold a Preliminary Examination to select the candidates for admission to Combined State/ Upper Subordinate Services Main (Written) Examination 2021 in various Districts of the State. The final selection of the candidates will be based on the scores obtained in Mains(Written) Exams and their performance in the Interview. The Commission will intimate the dates of the examination and exam center to the candidates through their e-Admission Certificate. This article will look into the UPPSC PCS Exam Pattern.

UPPSC PCS Exam Pattern
UPPSC PCS Prelims Examination Pattern
The Commission will conduct the preliminary examination in Objective type Multiple Choice Questions. However, the Mains Examination will be conducted in the conventional way, i.e., Descriptive written examination. In the last stage, the Commission will take a Personality Test.
The prelims will consist of two compulsory papers [Objective type and multiple-choice questions (MCQs)]. The answer sheet will be present on OMR Sheet. The duration of the paper is two hours, with 200 marks allocated for each paper. The candidates must appear in both the papers or else they will be disqualified from the examination. The Commission will determine the merit of the candidates to appear for Mains (Written) based on the marks secured in Paper-I of the preliminary exams.

The written examination will consist of compulsory and optional subjects. The candidates will be required to select optional subjects from the list provided by the Commission.
