Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Provincial Civil Services had invited the application. The exams are tentative to be held this year. The Commission has announced the recruitment for 400 vacancies for the Combined State/ Upper Subordinate Services Examination.
The Commission has proposed to hold a Preliminary Examination to select the candidates for admission to Combined State/ Upper Subordinate Services Main (Written) Examination 2021 in various Districts of the State. The final selection of the candidates will be based on the scores obtained in Mains(Written) Exams and their performance in the Interview. The Commission will intimate the dates of the examination and exam center to the candidates through their e-Admission Certificate. This article will look into the UPPSC PCS Exam Pattern.

The Commission will conduct the preliminary examination in Objective type Multiple Choice Questions. However, the Mains Examination will be conducted in the conventional way, i.e., Descriptive written examination. In the last stage, the Commission will take a Personality Test.
The prelims will consist of two compulsory papers [Objective type and multiple-choice questions (MCQs)]. The answer sheet will be present on OMR Sheet. The duration of the paper is two hours, with 200 marks allocated for each paper. The candidates must appear in both the papers or else they will be disqualified from the examination. The Commission will determine the merit of the candidates to appear for Mains (Written) based on the marks secured in Paper-I of the preliminary exams.

The written examination will consist of compulsory and optional subjects. The candidates will be required to select optional subjects from the list provided by the Commission.

The personality test has been allotted 100 marks. The test will be about general awareness, general interest about academic interest, character, intelligence, expression power, general suitability, and personality.
The UPPSC PCS Exam – 2021 comprises three stages: Prelims, Mains, and Interview. Prelims exam comprises two papers, and Mains exam comprises 8 papers. Applicants who will clear Prelims will qualify for the Mains Exam. Those who will clear Mains will go for the Interview Round. The final result will be based on the applicant’s performance in all three stages.

The pay grade scale for the junior category officer is Rs. 9300 to 34800 (with Rs 4600 as grade pay)
The pay grade scale for the senior category officer is Rs.15600 to 39100 (with Rs 5400 as grade pay)
Yes, there is a negative marking in UPPSC PCS Prelims Exam. For every wrong answer, the exam authority deducts 0.33 marks.
