Once you download your result, look for the following details. Check them carefully to avoid any confusion later:
Your XAT score is figured out from the raw scores you get in each section. For each correct answer, you get +1 mark, but for every wrong answer, you lose 0.25 marks. If you skip 8 questions in a row, you lose 0.10 marks. It's important to understand this marking system, so check the XAT Exam Pattern carefully.
Attempts | Marks |
Correct answer | +1 |
Incorrect answer | -0.25 |
Unanswered questions | 0 |
8 Consecutive Unanswered Questions | -0.10 |
All the marks you get in each section are added up. Your rank is determined by these total marks in XAT. This rank is then divided by the total number of candidates. Multiply the result by 100 to get your XAT Percentile Score.
Example:
Suppose 80,000 candidates appeared for XAT. One of them ranked 500. So, XAT Percentile for that candidate will be
= 79,500/80,000×100=99.375
