SSC Scientific Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2023: The SSC will soon release the notification for SSC IMG Scientific Assistant 2023. Candidates should know the criteria of qualification before they apply for the exam. Those who are found not to meet the criteria will be disqualified from the selection process. Age Limit

The age limit for candidates wishing to sit for the SSC Scientific Asst recruitment is 18-30 years. The dates for these will be mentioned in the notification.

Educational Criteria

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Science with Physics as one of the key subjects/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Applications or a Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from a Recognised Institute.
  • Candidates must be completed their full-time 3 years diploma course after the 10+2 examination.
  • Candidate must be passed 10+2 from a recognized institute with Physics and Mathematics as core subjects.
  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Science with Physics as one of the key subjects/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Applications or a Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from a Recognised Institute.
  • Candidates must be completed their full-time 3 years diploma course after the 10+2 examination.
  • Candidate must be passed 10+2 from a recognized institute with Physics and Mathematics as core subjects.

Percentages and marks for SSC Scientific Assistant

The marks and percentages that students need in the degree/diploma to be eligible to apply for SSC IMD Scientific Assistant is as follows.

  • The qualifying Degree or Diploma referred above should be in First Class (60% marks) or 6.75 CGPA on a 10 point scale.
  • The qualifying Degree or Diploma referred above must be of three (3) years duration after (10+2) examination.
  • The applicant must have passed 10+2 Examination from a Recognized Board or equivalent in Science with Physics and Mathematics as core subjects.

Final Year Students Eligibility

For students in their final year applying for SSC IMD Scientific Assistant-

  • The candidates who have appeared in the final year of their graduation can also apply, however, they must possess essential qualifications on or before the cut-off date. This cut-off date will be communicated in the notification.
  • The result of the requisite educational qualification must have been declared by the Institute/ University by the cut-off date. This cut-off date will be communicated in the notification. Mere processing of the result by the University/ Institute by the cut-off date does not fulfill the EQ requirement.

Compensatory Time and Assistance of Scribe Eligibility

In case of persons with benchmark disabilities in the following categories can avail scribe services:

  1. OA - One Arm affected
  2. OL - One-Leg Affected
  3. Dw - Dwarfism and
  4. AAV - Acid Attack Victim
  • The candidate will have the discretion of opting for his/her own scribe or to avail the facility of scribe provided by the Commission.
  • The qualification of the scribe should be one step below the qualification of the candidate taking the examination.
  • A compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination will be provided to the persons who are allowed use of scribe.
