SNAP Exam Eligibility has many requirements, and candidates must meet all of them. Check the sections below to understand the basic criteria for SNAP Eligibility. If you're taking the upcoming exam, it's important to know the SNAP Exam Pattern well.

SNAP Age LimitAge is no bar to appear in the SNAP Exam 2023. If the candidates fulfil the basic requirements, then they can apply for this exam.
NationalityCandidates who are Indian citizens can apply for Symbiosis National Aptitude Test SNAP 2023. However, candidates belonging to foreign countries are also eligible for this exam if they qualify for the basic SNAP Eligibility.
SNAP Number of AttemptsThere are no restrictions on the SNAP Exam attempts. The candidates can appear for this exam as many times as they want. They only need to qualify for the basic educational qualifications as per SNAP Eligibility Criteria.
Work ExperienceThe candidates with prior full-time work experience will get advantages in the SNAP selection process. However, fresh graduates and fresher candidates can also apply for this exam, as it is not mentioned that work experience is compulsory to appear in the SNAP Exam.

SNAP Eligibility Criteria 2023 – Indian Students

If you're an aspiring Indian candidate for the upcoming exam, make sure you meet the following SNAP Eligibility. It's crucial to fulfill all the requirements for SNAP 2023 to avoid last-minute cancellation of your application.

  1. Education Requirement:
    • Candidates should have a 3-year Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university or an Institution of National Importance.
    • They need to score at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA (45% for SC or ST candidates).
  2. Final Year Candidates:
    • Students in their final year can also take the test.
    • However, their admission depends on securing a minimum of 50% marks in their final year (45% for SC or ST).
    • Admission for final year candidates is provisional and will be canceled if they don't meet the specified criteria.
  3. Provisional Admission:
    • Provisional admission doesn't guarantee acceptance; the final decision rests with Symbiosis International (Deemed) University (SIU).
  4. Age Limit:
    • There is no age limit for Indian students applying for SNAP.

SNAP Eligibility Criteria 2023 – Foreign Students

The Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE) at the University helps make the campus and its courses more international. Admissions for all institutes under Symbiosis International (Deemed University) go through SCIE. This means candidates from anywhere in the world can apply and get admission to SIU-affiliated institutes. Check out the list of SNAP Colleges for more information.

  1. Foreign National (FN):
    • If you're from a country other than India and have a foreign passport, you can apply as a Foreign National (FN).
  2. Overseas Citizen of India (OCI):
    • If you have Overseas Citizenship of India and possess an OCI card, you can apply as an OCI.
  3. Person of Indian Origin (PIO):
    • If you hold a PIO card and are a citizen of a country other than India, you can apply as a Person of Indian Origin (PIO).
  4. Non-Resident Indian (NRI):
    • If you're an Indian national who has taken the 12th equivalent exam or graduated outside India, you can apply as a Non-Resident Indian (NRI).
    • It's necessary for at least one of the qualifying exams to be taken outside India.

Students from foreign universities, overseas citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and non-resident Indians (NRI) can apply for SNAP 2023. Check the following section for eligibility details for international applicants.

  • If you're applying from overseas, you must pass an English Proficiency Test. For IELA, aim for band 4, and for IELTS, aim for band 6.
  • If you graduated from a foreign university, you need an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian University (AIU). Make sure your foreign degrees are approved by AIU before applying to SIU programs.
  • Stay informed about the SNAP Admit Card release date. It's your responsibility to meet the necessary qualifications for admission.
  • Submit proof of residence, passport, a copy of your visa (student visa), a certificate confirming your status as a student, and a provisional admission letter from the university or institute you're applying to.

SNAP Eligibility Criteria 2023 – Reservation Policy

SIU will share the SNAP 2023 reservation policy when they announce the official exam notification. For now, candidates can note the following points to understand the eligibility reservation policy for admission to any SIU institute except the Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies.

  1. Document Submission:
    • If you belong to reserved categories (Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes/Kashmiri Migrants/Differently Abled), you must submit relevant documents from a competent authority.
    • All documents submitted during the SNAP Admission Process will be checked for authenticity.
  2. Category Selection:
    • If a candidate falls under more than one category, they need to choose one during the SNAP Application. Benefits will be based on the selected category, and no other category can be claimed later.
  3. Eligibility Norms:
    • Candidates in reserved categories should carefully understand SNAP Eligibility norms before applying.
  4. Performance Requirement:
    • A minimum level of performance is necessary in the SNAP Exam.
  5. Credential Accuracy:
    • If a candidate's reservation credentials are incorrect, the University can cancel their candidature at any stage of the admission process.
  6. Caste Certificates:
    • Caste certificates issued only for state government benefits won't be accepted. If in a vernacular language, it needs an English translation from the authority.
  7. Differently Abled Category:
    • Differently Abled candidates will be provisionally admitted and must obtain an ‘Authentication Certificate' from Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC) within the program's commencement. SCHC will verify provided documents.
  8. Armed Forces Study Leave:
    • Officers of Armed Forces on Study Leave, as authorized by respective Services HQs, are granted automatic admission, subject to meeting SNAP Eligibility criteria.

Within Sanctioned Intake:

  1. Scheduled Caste (SC): 15%
  2. Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5%
  3. Differently Abled: 3%
  4. Nagpur Domiciled: 25% (only for SIBM, Nagpur)
  5. Children/Wards of Defence Personnel: 5% (specific programs only)

Over & Above Intake:

  1. Kashmiri Migrants: 2 seats per program
  2. International Candidates: 15%
