RBI Grade B Eligibility 2024: The minimum age limit to apply for the RBI Grade B exam is 21 years whereas the maximum age limit is 30 years as on the reference date which is 1st July 2024. A Master's Degree in Finance (or any other master's degree where "Finance" is the principal constituent* of the curriculum/syllabus, namely MA / MSc in Quantitative Finance, Mathematical Finance, Quantitative Techniques, International Finance, Business Finance, Banking and Trade Finance, International and Trade Finance, Project and Infrastructure Finance, Agri Business Finance). For a) and b) above, a minimum of 55 percent marks or an equivalent grade is required in aggregate of all semesters/years from a recognized Indian or foreign University / Institute. |
Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - DSIM | Essential: a. A Master's Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics/ Applied Statistics & Informatics with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years; OR b. Master's Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and one year post graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an Institute of repute; OR c. Master's degree course in Data Science/ Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning/ Big Data Analytics, with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years from a recognized University/ Institute, an institute of national importance, UGC/ AICTE approved programme; OR d. Four-year Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years in Data Science/ AI/ ML/ Big Data Analytics from a recognized University/ Institute, an institute of national importance, UGC/ AICTE approved program; OR e. The RBI Grade B Educational Qualification for DEPR is a Master's degree in Economics/ Finance or any equivalent stream. The minimum requirement of marks for candidates with a master's degree is 55%.
The RBI Grade B Educational Qualification for DSIM is a Master's degree in Mathematics/ Data Science/ Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning/ Big Data Analytics/ Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics/ Applied Statistics & Informatics. Apart from these, the candidate can also have 2 2-year Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) or 4 years bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.

Some institutes/ universities grant CGPAs, so for those who define the criteria for conversion of CGPA to percentage, the same will be accepted. Those who have not defined the criteria can follow the below-mentioned criteria:

The RBI Grade B Age Limit must be between 21 and 30 years. There is a reference date for the calculation of the age limit which has been notified. The reference date is 1st July 2024. Certain age relaxations are provided to candidates belonging to specific categories.

The RBI Grade B Age Limit for SC is 35 years as 5 years age relaxation is given to SC (Schedule Caste) candidates.
The RBI Grade B Age Limit for ST is 35 years as 5 5-year age relaxation is given to candidates belonging to the ST (Schedule Tribe) category.

The RBI Grade B Age Limit for PWD is 40 years for General category candidates, 43 years for OBC, and 45 years for SC/ST.
The RBI Grade B Age Limit for Ex-Servicemen is 35 years. This includes military service.
RBI Grade B Age Limit for Bank Employees is 35 years. Please note that this is for the ex-bank employees.
RBI Grade B Age Limit for M. Phil Students is 32 years.
RBI Grade B Age Limit for PhD Students is 34 years.
It is expected that there will be no requirement of experience for the RBI Grade B 2024 examination. So, even if you are a fresher and satisfy all other RBI Grade B Eligibility, you can apply.

The maximum RBI Grade B attempts is six for candidates belonging to the General category. However, for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories, there is no limit on the RBI Grade B attempts.

A. If you are a general category candidate, you have 6 attempts, whereas there is no bar on the number of attempts for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates. By 6 attempts, it means you should have taken the RBI Grade B Phase 1 exam 6 times. If you have already taken the RBI Grade B Phase 1 exam 6 times, then you are not eligible to apply.
A. Yes, there is negative marking in Phase 1 of the RBI Grade B exam. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer in RBI Grade B Phase 1.

For GEN/OBC/EWSs - Rs 850 + 18% GST
For SC/ST/PwBD - Rs 100 + 18% GST
For RBI Staff - Nil.
There will be no application fee for the RBI staff.
