- There is no maximum age limit for SC/ST, Most Backward Classes/ De-notified Communities, Backward Classes, and Destitute Widows
- The maximum age limit for candidates with a Law Degree applying for Deputy Commercial Tax officer is 32 years for General Candidates and 37 years for SC/ST, Most Backward Classes/De-notified Communities, Backward Classes, and Destitute Widows
Nationality
Candidates must be citizens of India or the Subject of Bhutan/Nepal or Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1st January 1962. The candidate can also be a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia to settle in India permanently. Candidates from the state of Tamil Nadu are given more preference than candidates from other states as eligibility criteria for both differ.
Number of Attempts
There is no limit specified to the number of attempts for the TNPSC Group 2 Eligibility, and One can take as many attempts as possible until the age limit is crossed. Candidates belonging to SC/ST, BC/MBC categories can appear for the exam as many times they wish to as there is no maximum age limit set for them.
