Railway RRB JE Eligibility Criteria
A candidate needs to meet certain eligibility criteria in order to appear for any competitive exam. The following section will discuss about the eligibility criteria for RRB JE which includes age, nationality and educational qualifications.
Age Limit
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 33 years
The age relaxations will be applicable as per the government rules but will be subjected to the submission of requisite certificates.

Educational Qualifications
The post wise Education Requirements are provided below -:

Junior Engineer (JE) | Diploma/Degree in Engineering in relevant disciplines to be given in the detailed notification which will be published soon. |
Junior Engineer (IT) | PGDCA/B.Sc/B.Tech/BCA in Computer Science or IT. DOEACC ‘B’ Level course of 3 years or equivalent from a recognised university. |
Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) | Diploma/Degree in Engineering from any discipline |
Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) | 45% marks in the Bachelor’s Degree (Science) with Physics and Chemistry |
Nationality
Nationality is also one of the criteria you need to check before submitting your application. The accepted nationalities for RRB JE is as follows:
- Citizen of India
- Subject of Nepal
- Subject of Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee who had migrated to India before 01/01/1962.
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated to India from countries such as Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, East African Countries of Zambia, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire, Malawi, Ethiopia & Vietnam.
