What is SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria 2025?

 

The detailed SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria requires candidates to be Indian nationals, hold a Master's degree in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject (or as the medium of examination), and be aged between 18 to 30 years (age relaxations apply as per government rules and category).

SSC JHT Nationality

 

The SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria also include the nationality of the candidates. The details regarding candidates' citizenship are as follows.

A candidate must meet one of the following criteria:

  • A citizen of India.
  • A citizen of Nepal.
  • A citizen of Bhutan.
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India.

Candidates falling under categories (b), (c), and (d) above must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

SSC JHT Educational Qualification

For Post Codes 'A' to 'C' (Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Translator)

 

Candidates must have one of the following qualifications:

  1. Master's degree from a recognized university in:
    • Hindi, with English as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
    • English, with Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
    • Any other subject with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
