SSC JHT Nationality Requirement is that a candidate must be an Indian citizen or a subject of Nepal, Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee (who came to India before January 1, 1962), or a person of Indian origin who migrated from select countries with the intention of permanent settlement in India.

The details of the SSC JHT educational qualifications for various posts are provided below. As per this year's SSC JHT notification, candidates must have completed the required educational qualification by 1st August 2025.

For Post Codes ‘A' to ‘C' (Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Translator)

 

Candidates must have one of the following qualifications:

  1. Master's degree from a recognized university in:
    • Hindi, with English as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
    • English, with Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
    • Any other subject with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
    • Any other subject with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
    • Any other subject, with Hindi & English as compulsory/elective subjects, OR one as the medium of examination and the other as a compulsory/elective subject at the degree level.

Additional Requirement:

Below are the additional requirements for Post Code C:

  • A recognized Diploma/Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa, OR
  • Two years of translation experience from Hindi to English and vice versa in a Central/State Government Office, including Government of India Undertakings.

For Post Code ‘D' (Senior Hindi Translator, Senior Translator)

 

Candidates must have one of the following qualifications:

  1. Master's degree from a recognized university in:
    • Hindi, with English as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
    • English, with Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
    • Any other subject with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
    • Any other subject with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level, OR
    • Any other subject, with Hindi & English as compulsory/elective subjects, OR one as the medium of examination and the other as a compulsory/elective subject at the degree level.

  • A recognized Diploma/Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa, OR

What is SSC JHT Age Limit?

 

The SSC JHT Age Limit has been set by the Staff Selection Commission where candidates aged between 18 and 30 years as of 1st August 2025. This means applicants must have been born on or after 26th June, 2007, and on or before 25th June 1995. The age limit for SSC Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) candidates is as follows:

  • राष्ट्रीयता (Nationality):
    उम्मीदवार भारत का नागरिक होना चाहिए या नेपाल, भूटान का निवासी हो, या एक तिब्बती शरणार्थी जो 1 जनवरी 1962 से पहले भारत आया हो, अथवा भारतीय मूल का व्यक्ति जो पाकिस्तान, बर्मा, श्रीलंका आदि से स्थायी निवास के लिए आया हो।
  • शैक्षणिक योग्यता (Educational Qualification):
