A payment of Rs 100 has to be made as an application fee by candidates registering to take the SSC CGL exam. Online or offline methods using SBI challan or BHIM, UPI or internet banking, credit card or debit card. Though there are different criteria for each of the posts filled by the SSC CGL exam, the essential eligibility criteria for this exam are as follows.

Nationality/citizenship

The candidate must be an Indian citizen or of Indian origin or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee.

Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

Junior Statistical Officer

Bachelor's Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level;

General Awareness

Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates' general awareness of the environment around them and its application to society.

• Test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations.

• Software: Windows Operating system including basics of Microsoft Office like MS word, MS Excel and Power Point etc.
• Working with Internet and e-mails: Web Browsing & Searching, Downloading & Uploading, Managing an E-mail Account, e-Banking.
• Basics of networking and cyber security: Networking devices and protocols, Network and information security threats (like hacking, virus, worms, Trojans, etc.), and preventive measures.
