What are the changes in the IBPS Clerk Exam 2025?

 

The IBPS Clerk 2025 Exam has introduced major changes in the recruitment process, including a new post name, revised exam pattern, and mandatory local language test. The IBPS Clerk Updates aim to align the selection process with job responsibilities, improve regional suitability, and enhance transparency for candidates. The Mains exam has been made more compact, and digital tools like DigiLocker have been added to simplify documentation. Here are the key changes:

  • Post Renamed: Clerk is now called Customer Service Associate (CSA).
  • Pay Scale Published: Official pay scale released, the salary range is ₹24,050 to ₹64,480 with increments. The IBPS Clerk Pay Scale is ₹24,050 – 1,340 (3 years) – ₹28,070 – 1,650 (3 years) – ₹33,020 – 2,000 (4 years) – ₹41,020 – 2,340 (7 years) – ₹57,400 – 4,400 (1 year) – ₹61,800 – 2,680 (1 year) – ₹64,480.
  • Local Language Proficiency: Mandatory; LLPT required if not studied the language in Class 10 or above.
  • Mains Exam Pattern Changed: Total questions reduced from 190 to 155, duration from 160 mins to 120 mins.
  • DigiLocker Integration: Auto-fetch of Aadhaar and documents for faster uploads.
  • Separate Edit Window: Additional chance to edit the application after registration closes.

IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2025


The IBPS Clerk Notification 2025 has been released for 10,277 vacancies under the 15th edition of the Common Recruitment Process (CRP Clerks-XV). IBPS Clerk Selection Process 2025


The selection process for IBPS CRP Clerk XV has two stages- Prelims Exam and Mains. Then the LPT plus document verification is done. The IBPS Prelims Exam is a qualifying stage. The IBPS Clerk Mains is the main deciding factor in the exam. Candidates who qualify the IBPS Clerk Exam will be called for the IBPS Clerk LPT and DV, which is the final stage.

IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern 2025


The IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern consists of two stages: Preliminary Exam and Main Exam. 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. Both exams are conducted online. The IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Pattern has been revised for 2025. While the total marks remain the same, the number of questions and total duration have been changed. The final merit is prepared based on the marks secured in the Mains exam only.

IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam Pattern


The preliminary exam is the first stage of the IBPS Clerk selection process. It consists of three sections: English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. The exam is of 100 marks and has to be completed in 60 minutes. There is a sectional timing of 20 minutes for each section.

The IBPS Clerk Mains pattern has been renamed and revised in 2025. The exam will now have 190 questions (earlier 155), but the total marks remain 200. The duration has been reduced to 120 minutes from the earlier 160 minutes. Final merit is based only on the Mains exam.
