Bihar Police Constable | Eligibility Criteria

The Bihar Police Constable eligibility criteria mentioned here is based on the criteria of 2020 and are defined under three different stages which are age limit criteria, educational qualification, and physical standards.

Educational Qualification

To apply for the Bihar Police Constable vacancies, you must have passed the class 12 (Intermediate) Exam from any Government Recognized Board in India.

The selection for the post of constable in Bihar Police will be done in the following steps:

Stage 1: Written Exam

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) For Male Candidates

The details for the Physical Efficiency Test of Bihar Police Constable post is shared below which consist of 100 marks:

I. Race – 1.6 km (50 marks)

• Race completed in less than 5 mins. – 50 marks
• Race completed between 5 and 5 min 20 sec. – 40 marks
• Race completed in more than 5 min 20 sec. and till 5 min 40 sec. – 30 marks
• Race completed in more than 5 min 40 sec and till 6 mins. – 20 marks

Candidates taking more than 6 minutes will be disqualified.
II. Shot put – 16 pound weight through 16 feet (25 marks)

• 16 to 17 feet – 09 marks
• More than 17 feet to 18 feet – 13 marks
• 18 feet to 19 feet – 17 marks
• 19 feet to 20 feet – 21 marks
• More than 20 feet – 25 marks

Candidates throwing less than 16 feet will be disqualified.

III. High Jump – Min 4 feet (25 marks)

• 04 feet – 13 marks
• 04 feet 4 inch – 17 marks
• 04 feet 8 inch – 21 marks
• 05 feet – 25 marks

Candidates who jump less than 4 feet will be declared disqualified.

Physical Efficiency Test For Females

The Physical Efficiency Test for Bihar Police Lady Constable post will comprise a total of 100 marks. The distribution of marks is as follows:

I. Race – 1 km (50 marks)

• Race completed in less than 4 mins. – 50 marks
• Race completed between 4 min and 4 min and 20 sec. – 40 marks
• Race completed in more than 4 min 20 sec. and till 4 min 40 sec. – 30 marks
• Race completed in more than 4 min 40 sec and till 5 mins. – 20 marks

Candidates taking more than 5 minutes will be disqualified.

II. Shot put – 12 pound weight through 12 feet (25 marks)

• 12 to 13 feet – 09 marks
• More than 13 feet to 14 feet – 13 marks
• 14 feet to 15 feet – 17 marks
• 15 feet to 16 feet – 21 marks
• More than 16 feet – 25 marks

Females throwing less than 12 feet will be disqualified.

III. High Jump – Min 3 feet (25 marks)

• 03 feet – 13 marks
• 03 feet 4 inch – 17 marks
• 03 feet 8 inch – 21 marks
• 04 feet – 25 marks

Females who jump less than 3 feet will be declared disqualified.

The notification for recruitment in 2021 has not been released yet. As per the latest recruitment notification held in 2020, a total of 8,415 vacancies have been released for the recruitment of constables in the Bihar Police.
