How to get selected for AAO in SSC CGL?

 

To get selected as an AAO in SSC CGL, candidates must clear Tier 1 and Tier 2 with strong scores, meet the required eligibility criteria, and secure a high rank in the final merit list. What is the new language requirement for State Cadre AAO Posts?

 

A significant addition in SSC CGL 2026 is the regional language requirement for State Cadre positions. Candidates applying for State Cadre AAO/Assistant Accounts Officer posts must be able to:

  • Read the local language
  • Write in the local language
  • Speak the local language
  • Understand the local language

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern

 

The SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern for AAO posts is given below, with Paper-III introduced specifically for AAO posts, along with key details about merit list preparation, exam duration, and negative marking policy.

  1. Merit List: Based only on Tier-2 performance.
  2. Exam Duration: Paper 1: 2 hours 15 minutes; Paper 2: 2 hours.
  3. Negative Marking: Paper 1 – 1 mark per wrong answer; Paper 2 – 0.50 marks per wrong answer.
