The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is the apex body for coordinating, guiding, and managing research and education in agriculture in the entire country under the aegis of DARE, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. 

The ICAR-AU System of India has 74 Agricultural Universities comprising 63 State Agricultural, Veterinary, Horticultural and Fisheries Universities (SAUs), 4 ICAR-DUs, viz. IARI, IVRI, NDRI and CIFE, 3 Central Agricultural Universities (CAU, Imphal, Dr. RPCAU, Pusa and RLB CAU, Jhansi), 4 Central Universities (CUs) having Faculty of Agriculture (BHU, AMU, Viswa Bharati and Nagaland University).

ICAR IARI Technician Exam 2021-22 Notification

The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) will conduct a competitive examination for recruitment to the posts of Technician (T-1) between 25 January- 05 February 2022 under Direct Recruitment in Pay Level-3 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix at ICAR Research Institutes in accordance with the rules issued by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The IARI under the Administrative control of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, DARE, Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi will hold an online computer-based test (CBT).

Essential Qualifications

Matriculation pass from a recognized Board. The candidate must specifically indicate the percentage of marks obtained (calculated to the nearest two decimals) in the relevant column of the application form. Where the percentage of marks is not awarded by the University but only CGPA/OGPA is awarded, the same shall be converted into percentage in terms of conversion norms of the university in this regard, besides indicating the CGPA/OGPA in the application form. Candidates will have to produce the certificate/document issued by the university evidencing the conversion formula of university when called for document verification. Round off % age will not be accepted under any circumstances for consideration for appointment. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60%. 

Age Limit

Age Limits for this examination will be as under: -

a. Minimum age limit is 18 years as on 10 January 2022 i.e. closing date of online application

b. The maximum age limit is 30 years as on 10 January 2022 i.e., the closing date of online application. The maximum age limit for Serving regular employees of ICAR is 58 years as on 10 January 2022.

For Serving Candidates

All candidates in the service of Indian Council of Agricultural Research/any other Govt. Service, whether in a permanent or in temporary capacity (employees under probation), other than casual, outsourced or daily rated employees, must inform in writing to their Head of Office/Department that they have applied for this examination. Candidates should note that in case a communication is received from their employer by the IARI withholding permission to the candidates applying for /appearing at the examination, their applications will be liable to be rejected /cancelled. This information/permission (to the concerned employer) will be required in case of selection.

Steps To Apply Online For ICAR ARI Technician

STEP-I (Registration): 

a) Candidates can apply online by visiting the ICAR-IARI website and going to the tab "Recruitment Cell" available at https://www.iari.res.in/

b) An instruction page corresponding to the Examination will be displayed to the candidates and they will have to accept the Terms & Conditions by clicking 'I Agree' Checkbox given below and pressing the 'Start' button.

c) Applicants need to sign up by filling up post applied, Name, valid Mobile Number and valid E-mail ID.

d) Reserved Category candidates need to check from Advertisement whether the vacancy is available under their respective reserved category. If the vacancy is not available under an original category, then such candidates will be considered as ‘General/UR'.

e) After submitting the above details, candidates will receive Login ID & Password on their registered mobile number and Email ID, hence candidates are advised to verify the correctness of the mobile number & E-mail ID before proceeding.

f) Only one application is permitted through one E-mail ID.

STEP-II: FILLING-UP OF APPLICATION & SUBMISSION OF FEE

a. Candidate should now re-login with Login ID & Password received on registered E-mail ID/Mobile Number.

b. The candidate should now fill up all the desired/required information in the Online Form correctly. Also, upload scanned images of Photo/Signature/Documents in the respective different links as per detailed guidelines for scanning and uploading gave in Clause X, S.no VI. The candidate can see the filled application under the PREVIEW Option before submission. The candidate should check the filled details and make necessary corrections, under the EDIT Option. However, Name, Post opted, Email-Id, and Mobile Number cannot be changed.

c. Once the application is submitted (Step II), NO Change /edit will be allowed thereafter.

d. After submission of application, candidates will automatically be redirected to the SBI MOPS payment gateway to deposit the Examination Fee(If applicable) + Registration Fee + Bank charges (if applicable) through a different payment modes. Process Flow for deposit of Examination Fee through Payment Gateway of SBI MOPS is as under:

i. Do not refresh/go back on the page while the payment is in progress, doing so might interfere with the ongoing transaction.

ii. Post submission, the candidate will be re-directed to the Payment gateway to make the online payment of application fees.

iii. Kindly verify the fee details and make the payment for the application fee via any of the different payment modes.

iv. Post successful payment of the application fee, the candidate will be redirected to his/her application form.

ICAR ARI Technician Exam Pattern 2021-22

Examination will be of 100 marks consisting of Objective Type – Multiple Choice Questions and the duration will be of one and half hours. There will be four subjects carrying 25 marks for each of the following subjects as per the following scheme: -

1. The question papers will be prepared bilingually, in English & Hindi for Sections 1, 2, 3 & 4.
2. The question paper will be common for all the functional groups in which the recruitment is proposed to be made.
3. There will be no interview for the posts of Technician (T-1).
4. The Answer key will be placed on the IARI website after the written examination. Any representation regarding answer key received within 05 days of uploading of the answer key will be scrutinized and the decision of the IARI/Council in this regard will be final.

Indicative Syllabus for Written Examination

The indicative syllabus for ICAR Technician posts (T-1) comprises four sections namely, General Knowledge, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science. Go through the subject wise syllabus below.

General Knowledge

In this section, questions will be asked to test the knowledge of current events relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Science, General Policy and Scientific Research.

Mathematics

Matric level questions on the number system, fundamental arithmetical operations, algebra, geometry, mensuration, trigonometry and statistical charts.

Science

Matric level questions on Physical and Chemical substances – Nature and behaviours, World of Living, Natural Phenomenon, Effects of Current and natural resources.

Social Science

Matric Level questions on India and the contemporary world, Democratic politics, Understanding Economic Development and Disaster Management.

ICAR IARI Salary

The candidates who will be selected for technician posts as per the ICAR IARI selection process will be receiving a basic salary of Rs. 21,700/- plus allowances under 7th CPC.
